Inspired by....

You Tube!  I was on Pinterest the other day and saw a pin to a You Tube mini...didn't like it, but found this one!  Mine is a bit different - but you can see where I started from anyway!  Here is the link to the original one.... YOU TUBE CARDSTOCK MINI.

The cover:  Had some fun making this one, made a few changes along the way - happy with the results and finally go to use some of my Jenni!

Left side opened up...

The middle opened up...

The right side opened up...

Back of right side...

Inside of front cover & left flap...

Brad closure - sorry, I should have taken a better shot, but if you look above, you'll see the half-moon cut out  that fits around the brad base.

Products used:  Jenni Bowlin Family Tree papers & journaling cards; Jenni Bowlin Tab Stickers in Red; Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Gathered Twig; and Ranger Shipping Tags in Manila & Black.

Have fun making one yourself...love to hear how yours turned out!

Iggydodie!  If you have never seen her blog, be sure to head over there some time and check her out (be prepared to use Google Translate...she's French) - amazing work!

I have seen her 'style' in many blogs (all French it seems) but love it!  Here is my take on one of hers I have seen.   I made the album cover-set from scratch using medium weight raw chipboard, and the binding is the accordion style that I will admit that I am still trying to master.  I think I need to work on it some more, but am pretty sure that I know what to do next time.

Inside cover/first page

An inside page, loads of color, patterns, textures via layers (my fav).

Another inside page, this time with a flip out.  You can see there are some similarities on each page - sometimes it may be a tag, a flower, circles or ink.

Another flip out page sample,

All the flip out pages have this punched edge, as well the SU! Top Note Die has been used with solid black cardstock and folded in half to create the 'binding' of the two.  It was my way of making it more colorful as I had originally had a full sheet (6x12") folded in half.

An inside page flipped out to see the entire spread...love this one!

layers and more layers!

These next two are of the same page, first one is fully open, the second is with the flap closed (and did you notice I did some fussy cutting)!

More layers of colors and patterns....my style!

Again - fully open with the first one, second is with the flap closed.

K, know it is kind of whacked...but this is the top view with all the flaps 'out'!
A close up shot of a few of the outer edges of the pages...cool!

I used a selection of papers from Authentique called Blissful.  Sorry I have none in stock.  Picked it up from a LSS.  I used up a lot of my stash cardstocks to coordinate the best I could.  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twig (go figure)!  You can also see I used several Ranger Shipping Tags (no.5, black).  The flowers are a mix of Petaloo Color Me Crazy Flowers.

For You...

Here is a card I have made for my niece and nephew that share their birth date (three years apart).  I am a bad auntie as I am about 6 weeks behind in getting this to them!

This is simply an 8.5 x 11" sheet of cardstock cut in half lengthwise, Overlapped half an inch to create a 5.5" x 20.5" strip.  Score at 4", 8", 12", 16" and 20".  Then I just folded it over top of each other until it was all wrapped up.

This is showing the cover opened up...

Then opened up again....

And now opened all the way!

The tags I wrote notes to each of the kids, and the glassine bags I put some money for their bank accounts!

Fun and fast...I think this would be interesting to be made into a mini....back one or two more onto each other and have some fun!

And so it begins!

July 17-19 2012

Sneak Peeks are everywhere...many of your favorite (and mine) are giving us a sneak lookyloo at all the new goodies coming our way over the next few months!  You can either check out at each companies blog or head over to one of my favorites that have them all in one place.

The pre-orders have begun!  If you see something you are interested in, be sure to let me know and I can let you know if I will be ordering it or not.  By doing this, you also insure that you will indeed get what you are after.  If I am not planning on ordering it, you still have the option to get your hands on it.  I will let you know whether I can get it or not first, then I will advise what the minimums are and your price per unit - and you will have the option to buy accordingly.

Enjoy looking...hope you are as excited as I am!
